Panaji: In what can dampen the hopes of mining dependents, Goa Foundation’s Director Claude Alvares said that “the so-called review petition filed by Goa government in mining case is just for public consumption.”
Addressing a press conference, Alvares told reporters “What are the ongoing cases in the supreme court. What is this so-called review petition, it is bogus petition it is not even been filed you cannot file it in the registry of supreme court.”
“It is there for the media. the order has come in February 2018 and they are filing review petition in 2020 and they think that any court is going to accept review petition after two years? This is just for fun and just for public consumption.”
