VASCO- The Minister for Panchayats and Transport Mauvin Godinho on Sunday has appealed the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for a total lockdown in Vasco in order to contain the spread the COVID-19 pandemic to other parts of Mormugao taluka and also all over the state from the containment zone of Mangor-Hill.
Speaking to pressmen, Godinho disclosed that “Considering the galloping cases linked to Mangor-Hill and obviously impacting the whole of Mormugao taluka in the first place, lockdown is inevitable and the Chief Minister Sawant has to immediately take this step in this direction to ensure that the pandemic does not spread further to other parts of Mormugao taluka and also in other pasts of Goa.”
“I am of the opinion that the disease could be contained and brought under control by taking all the precautionary and preventive measures and as such total lockdown is needed in entire Vasco with immediate effect. The people should also follow all the health measures and guidelines issued by the MHA and Health authorities by maintaining social distancing, wearing face masks and also by using sanitizers from time to time. It is the duty of the people to remain cautious and alert to contain the spread of COVID-19. The people should cooperate with government”, said Godinho.
