Panaji: Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs minister Govind Gaude on Monday said that onions are being provided at minimum rates at fair price shops for the welfare of public.
Speaking at a press conference, Gaude said, “Onions will be available at fair price shops at minimum rates for ration card holders. we have come up with this scheme with a view to provide relief during these challenging times.”
“Those complaining about the quality of onions can directly come to the shops and replace their onions and if they have any grievances they can write to concerned authorities,” added Gaude
There are various inspecting officers who keep a check on the quality. Commenting on people who criticise this move of Gaude, he said, “These people are purely politically motivated, our scheme is designed to help people for their welfare.”
