Nitin Gadkari to use vehicle on Green Hydrogen once back in Delhi

Panaji: Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday said that he would start using Toyota company’s vehicle running on Green Hydrogen once he is back in New Delhi.

Gadkari was addressing the gathering after inaugurating various infrastructural projects in the state in presence of Union Minister Shripad Naik, chief minister Pramod Sawant and others.

“Toyota Company from Japan has given me vehicle which runs on Green Hydrogen. I will use it myself as a pilot project (on alternate fuel),” he said adding that Indian Oil from Faridabad as assured to supply Green Hydrogen required for fuelling the vehicle.

“For next 15 days, I will not be in Delhi as I will be touring Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. When I am back in Delhi, I will starting using it,” Gadkari said. He said that Green Hydrogen is the fuel of the future.

Speaking about Goa, Gadkari said that chief minister Pramod Sawant has recommended 13 works in the Annual Plan 2022-23 worth Rs 804.24 crores. “I am sanctioning all the works recommended by Sawant and work for the same would be awarded soon,” he said.

He said that the additional work to the tune of Rs 400 crore on the National Highway in Goa has been sanctioned in addition to another work of Rs 305 crore of the National Highway. Gadkari also announced that his ministry has sanctioned reimbursement of Rs 181 crore for balance work on Margao Western Bypass.

The minister said that Rs 350 crore has been sanctioned to make road leading to the state Airport traffic signal free.
