Panaji: In a major drug raid, Calangute police arrested a Nigerian national with a drugs worth Rs three crore in Candolim.
Accuse Ifeanyi Pascoel Obi @ Alex aged 34 years is been arrested under section 21(c), 22(c), 20(b) (ii) (B) and 20(b)(A) of the NDPS Act.
Calangute PI Nolasco Raposo said that in the continuing drive against narcotic drugs, a team of Calangute Police upon specific information raided a premises at Candolim, and apprehended one Nigerian National namely Mr Ifeanyi Pascoel Obi @ Alex aged 34 years with a variety of substances.
The substances suspected to be drugs viz around 1.021 kg of Cocaine, around 2.035 kg MDMA, around 760 grams of Amphetamine, around 106 grams charas, 1.270 kg ganja and cash amount of Rs 2 lakhs which was also found at the premises.
The total value of the seized drugs is Rs 3 crores approximately.
He said that this is the biggest single drugs seizure by Goa Police in recent times.
Raposo said that Goa Police is committed to zero tolerance towards drugs and our determination to put a check on drugs and drug peddlers will continue.
Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of SDPO, Porvorim Edwin Colaco and SP North, Utkrisht Prasoon.
