Porvorim: Laying a scathing attack on  Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo,  Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte has said that the drug links, investigated by Narcotics Control Bureau, are clearly pointing in the directions of the Calangute MLA.

Khaunte said that driver working for a resort who was arrested by NCB in connection with marijuana buds trafficking is employed with a person who is panch member of Calangute Panchayat.

“The said Panch member is a close associate of Michael Lobo,” he alleged.

Khaunte has asked Lobo to clarify his stand in the entire episode, or demand for the inquiry, as he has been doing in the past.

The Porvorim MLA said that drug links nexus of politicians is coming clear with every passing day.

He demanded that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should resign from the chair on moral grounds for failing to protect state from COVID-19 and also deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

He said that Goa has been converted into Drug Capital of India.

The MLA said that he had exposed “Jhaveri Kaand and Connections”, which had already pointed out to the nexus between politicians and drug lords to unleash a deadly cocktail of drugs, prostitution, money laundering, bollywood and cricket betting. Till date the government has not investigated into the links which clearly indicates they are part of the politician-drug mafia nexus.

He also  demanded that Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Vinay Tendulkar, Edmonton Royals Chief Vilas Desai along with rave party accused Kapil Jhaveri and his associate Gurmeet Singh Bhambrah be booked under National Security Act (NSA) for their anti-national activities.

Khaunte said that right from their involvement in money laundering to drug trafficking and hiring of Pakistani players to play in Canada T20 should be investigated by filing case under NSA against them.

The MLA said that it is shameful that BJP Mandal President, BJP’s representatives to Rajya Sabha has been involved in hiring Pakistani players, when our Armed Forces are fighting back the neighbouring country, laying their lives.

“Even people in Pakistan are against their own players who played for Desai’s cricket team which is of Indian origin,” he said.

Khaunte produced pictures of Desai, Tendulkar and PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar during the auctioning of the teams at a five star resort, where RS MP is clearly seen going through the figures ahead of the auction.

Khaunte said that he has investigated into the depth of entire nexus and would be handing over all the documents to the “concerned persons” in the days to come.

The MLA congratulated the NCB and Goa DGP and their teams for unearthing what can be the biggest exposure in the days to come.
