Panaji: BJP Goa unit President Vinay Tendulkar said that more legislators from Congress are expected to join the partners of ruling coalition.
Two Congress legislators – Subhash Shirodkar and Dayanand Sopte – had resigned as Members of Legislative Assembly and also from Congress on Tuesday. Later in the evening they had joined BJP.
“There are more leaders from Congress who wants to join us. They can join BJP, if they find our ideology acceptable to them or they can go to Goa Forward Party or Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (both alliance partners),” Tendulkar told reporters here.
When asked as to who are willing to switch over, he said “we would not reveal their names in advance.”
He said that the induction of two Congress leaders in BJP was a part of “Congress mukt Bharat.”
“Our slogan is Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas and Congress-mukt Bharat. Our aim to ensure that our government comes in power again in the Centre after Lok Sabha elections,” he said when asked about entry of Shirodkar and Sopte in the party.
