Margao: The renovation of historic Lohia Maidan has started in Margao city. Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai welcoming the development recalled that he had taken up the issue relentlessly in the Assembly.
Sardesai, who heads Goa Forward Party, took to twitter to welcome the development. He tweeted “Finally the work of renovation and beautification of the historic Lohia Maidan at Margao where the spark of revolution was lit in, 1946 by Ram Manohar Lohia, has begun! In the legislative assembly I have relentlessly followed up on this work initiated in my tenure as minister!”
Responding to the tweet of its President, GFP twitter handle wrote “it took many months of dogged and uncompromised pursuit by @Vijaisardesai including a letter to the then #Governor to realise this glorious tribute to our history, despite all efforts by powerful forces to scuttle it. Determination is leadership. Strong will is leadership.”
