Panaji: A 68-year-old lady who was quarantined in the isolation ward of Goa medical college and hospital died on Sunday, but the authorities have ruled out that it could be death due to COVID-19 infection.
State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane confirming death of the lady said that it cannot be called as due to COVID-19 infection as they are waiting for the test report of her samples.
She was isolated because she showed the symptoms of COVID-19 infection and her samples were sent for testing, he said.
Rane said that the lady complaint of respiratory distress, diagnosed with COPD infectie exacerbation and accordingly was shifted to isolation ward.
She expired on March 29 at 3 a.m. “However, lab results of the samples are awaited. She has no travel history of outside Goa,” Rane said.
Goa has tested three positive cases till now.
State chief minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday had claimed that the condition of all the three patients was stable.
