Khaunte in a representation to State government including Panchayat and Town and Country Planning ministers have demanded action in connection with the illegal structure in The Misty Green Society at Donwaddo, Bardez.
Khaunte has made representation to Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho and Town and Country Planning Minister Babu Kavlekar requesting them to initiate action against the illegal structure at The Misty Green Society.
Khaunte has also pointed out that one of the activist, who was exposing this structure has lost the life, while the stay order granted by local Panchayat has been vacated by Director of Panchayat.
“ I have been actively voicing my concern over such illegalities through media and the legislative forum. However, despite assurance by the Panchayat Minister, no action has been taken till date,” he said, in a representation to the State government.
“The failure on the part of the Directorate of Panchayat in disposing appeals in a timely and effective manner, have aggravated these illegalities,” Khaunte said.
“A classic example of such illegalities which led to a serious concern is the case of illegal structure in The Misty Green Society at Donwaddo, Bardez,” he said.
“The demolition order issued by the Panchayat was stayed by the Directorate of Panchayat. Amidst the numerous representations, the society witnesses the death of one of its own, an activist opposing the illegal structure on front foot,” he said.
“Such incident has created panic and fear amongst the people of the locality considering this is the first incident of its kind in the State.”
“Moreover, the TCP Department has also not been able to take active steps towards carrying out inspection and action in this case. In view of the concerns raised by the residents of the Misty Green Society and the failure on the part of the Directorate of Panchayat due to which such illegalities are flourishing, is painting the entire system in bad light.”
“Therefore, I request you to investigate into this matter and issue appropriate directions. These illegalities need to be stopped and therefore I request your urgent intervention,” he said.
