Porvorim: Salvador do Mundo Panchayat has filed a formal complaint with Porvorim Police and Communidade of Serula against illegal hill cutting for construction of a road at Salem in their jurisdiction.
During the inspection, Sarpanch Sandeep Salgaonkar revealed that only five per cent of the work was done in his panchayat, while 95 per cent is in Pomburpa village panchayat.
Salgaonkar was accompanied by Secretary Amit Prabhu and Panch Hemant Borkar.
Meanwhile, Sarpanch Sandeep Salgaonkar has filed complaint with Porvorim Police Inspector and President/Attorney of Communidade of Serula against the Hill cutting.
Salgaonkar has said that it has been brought to the notice of the Panchayat that some unknown person was carrying out illegal activities of hill cutting for making road at Salem near Salem/Ecoxim crematorium in the village panchayat jurisdiction at Salvador do Mundo without obtaining prior permission from the concerned authorities.
The Panchayat has asked both the authorities to inquire into the matter and take action as per the law.
