Panaji: Investment Summit ‘Vibrant Goa’ faced a major setback when one of the state’s premier industry organization – Goa Small Industries Association (GSIA) – has decided to withdraw their support to the event scheduled in October this year.

GSIA President Rajkumar Kamat said that the organization has decided to temporarily withdraw their support for the event as there are some clarification about the trust that is oraganising this event.

Interestingly, Chief minister Pramod Sawant has been promoting ‘Vibrant Goa’ as he was present for the pre-event meeting held at Cidade de Goa this month.

Another GSIA official said that executive and Advisory Committee of GSIA to inform you about the decision taken in the EC/AC meetings held on 22nd and 24th June 2019 in regard to termination of GSIA ‘s formal association with Vibrant Goa Foundation.

“GSIA’s Executive and Advisory Committee has taken a unanimous decision to withdraw our formal support to the  Vibrant Goa event planned to be conducted by the Vibrant Goa Foundation by rescinding an earlier decision taken to associate with the event,” he said.

“This decision has been taken after it came to light that the Vibrant Goa Foundation is a private trust over which GSIA neither has any governance control or any influence in the decision making process,” he added.

“It was felt that any failure in governance at vibrant Goa foundation would adversely affect the reputation & goodwill of GSIA as its associate,” the official said.
