Panaji: Goa Women Forward has welcomed the decision of State government to allow women to work on night shifts.
Goa Women Forward President Ashma Sayyed told a press conference that the decision taken by Goa Forward Party chief and Deputy chief minister Vijai Sardesai to allow women on night shifts will result in women empowerment.
“We welcome the decision as more and more women can feel empowered and they will be able to put in their efforts on the work. Time will not be a restriction for them,” she said.
Goa cabinet has approved amendment to Factories Act which will enable the industries to have women workforce work for the night shifts.
