Panaji: Social activist Tara Kerkar has said that Goa needs ‘Bazaar” (red light area) to reduce the number of sexual offences reported in the state.
Responding to the incident of alleged molestation reported in a school in South Goa, Kerkar claimed that the red light area is necessary for the state.
“Those pervert who want to satisfy themselves can go there and get themselves satisfied, rather than attacking our girls,” she said.
Kerkar said that during demolition of Baina red light area, she had warned then CM Manohar Parrikar that such a step would create tension across Goa.
