Panaji: Goa police arrested a 21-year-old man for raping a minor girl at Merces village on the outskirts of Panaji.
Old Goa Police arrested Babu Challagali (21) for raping 14-year-old girl in the month of March 2022 due to which she became pregnant. He was arrested on Tuesday, after the victim delivered a baby.
The parents of the victim had filed a police complaint alleging that the accused forcefully had sexual intercourse with their daughter.
The accused has been booked under Indian Penal Code sections dealing with rape, Goa Children’s Act and also section 3 and 4 of POCSO Act.
