Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday assured to take action against an IPS officer, posted in the state, who was reportedly involved in molesting a girl in a night club of Goa.
Sawant assured the ongoing monsoon session of the assembly that the “strict action would be taken against the IPS officer.”
“We will not tolerate this, strict action would be taken in connection with the matter,” the chief minister said.
The matter was raised by Goa Forward Party MLA Vijai Sardesai on the floor of the House on Wednesday. Sardesai demanded that the officer should be immediately suspended.
A media report in a local newspaper had claimed that an IPS officer was hit by a woman in the night club after he tried to molest her. The media report has not named the officer and also date of the incident.
