Panaji: When asked about his reaction to the statement by Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte on Friday said that the coastal state believes in quality over quantity.
Adityanath while speaking at a meeting held to review the arrangements being made to manage the increasing crowd pressure at Bankey Behari Temple in Vrindavan on Thursday had said that UP is now ahead of Goa in terms of tourist footfall.
When asked his reaction to the statement on Friday, Khaunte said that one cannot compare the population of both the states.
“Goa has made it clear that we are stressing quality over quantity and Goa beyond beaches,” he said.
Khaunte said that if Uttar Pradesh is working to promote tourism then it is a welcome step.
When asked about promotion of temple tourism, the minister said that the tourism department has given special stress on it and “you will see the difference, this year.”
He said that Goa will showcase its culture, tradition and history to the visitors.
