Panaji: Goa Forward Party chief Vijai Sardesai has said that the unity is a message from the topmost level to all those who are serious and sincere about defeating BJP to come together and fight on the common platform of Team Goa.
Sardesai also pointed out that in the year 2017, the only TMC MLA in the assembly was ordered by the TMC high command to support the BJP and brought in Manipur’s first BJP govt under Biren Singh even though the people did not want the BJP.
Sardesai was reacting to the statement by TMC Member of Parliament Mahua Moitra who had claimed the alliance between Congress and GFP as unholy.
In a statement released here, Sardesai said “What people conveniently forget is that last time we didn’t have an pre poll alliance with INC.”
“In fact we fought them in our constituencies. This time, this unity is a message from the top most level to all those who are serious and sincere about defeating BJP to come together and fight on the common platform of Team Goa.”
“This is what Goans want. We also fully support INC’s desire to create an united opposition to take on the BJP at the national level. See which parties are keeping away from that!”
TMC SUPPORTED BJP IN MANIPUR IN 2017
Sardesai said “While Moitra is making Goans aware of what happened in 2017, I want to make every Goemkar aware of another incident that happened in 2017.”

“In Manipur it’s not betrayal, in Goa it is? Keep aside 2017. In 2021, yesterday, TMC kept away from signing a joint statement by opposition parties because it doesn’t serve someone’s personal ambitions.”
This is selfishness at the cost of opposition unity! Who benefits? The same party who benefits by splitting anti-BJP votes in Goa.
