Fatorda Forward, supported by the Goa Forward Party, announced its candidates for wards 2 and 3 in Fatorda for the Margao Municipal Council elections. GFP President Vijai Sardesai introduced the candidates Crasto Joao Nicolau for Fatorda’s Ward 2 which covers Gawliwaddo and candidate Lyndon Pereira for Ward 3 covering Dovandem, Virabhat, and Ambaji.
Vijai Sardesai, also the Fatorda MLA, accompanied the candidates in their door to door campaigning, taking the forward looking agenda for Fatorda to every Fatordekar. Speaking to the residents, Sardesai said that he chose Crasto and Lyndon because they represent the cherished values of Fatorda—honesty, accessibility and commitment. Vijai said that all the candidates chosen for the Fatorda Forward platform stand for the party’s vision and mission of Goem, Goemkar and Goemkarponn.
Vijai emphasised the determination of both Crasto and Lyndon to take development further forward by constantly listening to the people and taking in their inputs. Sardesai said that unlike the opposition, GFP and Fatorda Forward have always worked under its ‘development by consent’ approach, and said that this model of development ensures that the people are satisfied, and content, and public works do not become unduly beneficial to contractors.
Sardesai pointed out that under the governance of Fatorda Forward, Fatorda has seen several people-centric development programs and services especially during the height of the lockdown in Goa. Sardesai said that both the candidates, Crasto and Lyndon, were eager and dedicated to help their people and will not spare any effort to be of service to the people of Fatorda.
He said that if elected, the Fatorda Forward will bring new development and programmes to make Fatorda future ready so that all residents, especially the children, live in a city capable to cater their future needs. He said, “Fatorda has become the embodiment of a modern, progressive Goa, and we are ready and capable to take it further forward.
The GFP supremo asserted that “Delhi tricks and their PR promises don’t work in Fatorda, here the people are well informed, discerning and knowledgeable, and judge candidates by their merit. I have full faith in Crasto and Lyndon, and I know for sure that they will work hard and fulfil all the needs of the people.”
