Panaji: GPCC chief Girish Chodankar said that Curtorim Block Congress committee will meet to decide on the candidate after Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco left the party.
Chodankar said that TMC may have purchased our MLA but they could not buy our Curtorim Block.
“MLA has ditched the party at eleventh hour. There are lot of people who are interested in contesting from Curtorim constituencyBlock will meet again and we will access the situation and make the recommendations.
“Once block recommends. District will take a call on it,” he said.
Chodankar said that there is no need of dissolving curtorim block as they are loyal to congress and not to any individual.
“None of the members have left us. TMC can’t buy our curtorim block, they may have bought our MLA. People of curtorim are not for sale,” he said.
CANDIDATURE OF SHALOM SARDINHA
When asked about candidature of Shalom Sardinha, Chodankar said that it is a welcome step that people want to contest on Congress ticket. He said that the Block will recommend the names, which would be discussed further.
