Panaji: In the wake of Covid19 outbreak in the country, Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) on Friday announced the postponement of the tests for filling up posts of Junior Scale officers which was scheduled to be held on March 29.
GPSC Chairman Jose Manuel Noronha told reporters on Friday that in view of Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) being reported from different parts of the Country and the precautionary measures undertaken by the Government, the commission has decided to postpone the Junior Scale Officer (JSO) Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT).
The test was scheduled to be held on March 29, he said.
“A fresh date will be announced at an appropriate time,” Noronha added.
Noronha said that the commission had released Advertisement for filling up 22 positions of Junior Scale Officer of Goa Civil Service (JSO) on January 10, 2020 and had received 3635 applications for these positions out of which 3580 were eligible to answer the Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT).
“The CBRT is an Examination that the Commission holds to shortlist appropriate candidates. The Commission has advertised such a large number of positions after many years,” he added.
Meanwhile, Noronha said that owing to COVID-19, the Commission has also postponed various Departmental Promotion Committee Meetings scheduled to be held on March 24 and these meetings will also be convened at an appropriate time.
