Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday visited state border at Keri, Sattari to oversee the COVID-19 testing facility set up as a part of fight against COVID-19.
Speaking to reporters at the border, which is adjoining Karnataka, Sawant said that the private labouratories have been roped in to set up testing facilities, as a precaution against Delta Plus Variant of the virus.
“We have stepped up the monitoring at all the borders after Delta Plus variant of COVID-19 has been reported in the neighbouring state,” he said.
The chief minister said that if any person entering the state is found to be infected with COVID-19, then he is kept in isolation facility or admitted to the hospital.
He said that the private labouratories are set up at all the state borders, which are monitored by respective Deputy Collectors.
“People entering the state might face little inconvenience but there is no option. This has been done to ensure safety of people from the spread of covid-19,” he said.
Goa has not reported a single case of Delta Plus variant of COVID-19.
