CM must ensure vigilant checks in case of illegal mining: Khaunte

Panaji: Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte on Tuesday opined that the chief minister must ensure strict vigilance and check on illegal mining in the State. Khaunte’s statement comes after the Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed the transportation of extracted iron ore upto January 31, 2021.
Exclaiming that it is a good move by the apex court with respect to the struggling mining industry, Khaunte said that he is hopeful that it does not encourages illegal mining.
“Supreme Court allows transportation of extracted ore upto 31.1.2021. While it’s good news for the struggling mining industry, I sincerely hope it’s not going to boost illegal mining. @goacm must ensure vigilant checks to plug revenue leakages & related maladies of Illegal Mining,” Khaunte tweeted.

  1. Ten Thousand Rupees should be given to each Goan Family each Month in Goa because Mines belong to Goans and hence Goans must get Mines Royalty.
