Margao: Shiv Sena’s South Goa Parliamentary candidate Rakhi Prabhudesai Naik has said that, once she is elected as Member of Parliament, the thrust would be given to bring in central fund to protect Goa’s extinct culture and heritage.
“Goa is unique from rest of the country for its heritage and culture. We need to preserve it and also showcase it to the world. As MP, it would be my priority to source funds from centre for the protection of culture and heritage,” she said.
“I belong to the ruralmost part of Goa. I live in Sanguem and I am well aware about the culture and heritage of Goa which is nestled in the Western Ghats. We need to preserve it,” she said.
Naik said that the politicians who became MPs in the past never thought about this aspect of development, which would be given importance by Shiv Sena.
“We may develop the State to make it semi urban or urban. But we will always be at the loss if we fail to protect our culture and heritage,” she said.
Naik said that she has been getting tremendous response from the people during her campaigning, who have already decided to vote for her.
“I am not a new face to Goa. Through various social issues, I have been touching lives of the people. This time, they have decided to give me an opportunity to go to Lok Sabha,” she said.
