Panaji: Shiv Sena has come down heavily upon the government stating that BJP should file contempt against their own leaders, who compromised on Mhadei issue during regular intervals.
Shiv Sena Goa vice president Rakhi Prabhudessai Naik on Tuesday hit out at chief minister Pramod Sawant over the Mhadei issue and said that he should also file contempt petitions on his own leaders. Referring to a “letter” that is in public domain, Naik sought explanations from the government as to why former chief minister late Manohar Parrikar agreed to share water with Karnataka before elections.
She also questioned as to why Union Minister Amit Shah promised had promised Mhadei water to Karnataka before elections.
In a series of tweets Naik also lambasted at the BJP government over the disputed Mhadei issue and questioned the hurriedness of Karnataka government in diverting water of Mhadei.
“#BJP should also explain why @amitshah during #Karnataka election promised to give #Mhadei water. @PramodPSawant should also file contempt petitions on his own leaders,” Naik tweeted.
“#BJP should also explain why #ManoharParrikar agreed to share water with #Karnataka before elections. The letter is in public domain. #BJP should also explain why their govt in centre can’t ask their govt in Karnataka to wait for #SC verdict on #Mhade @DrPramodPSawant @goacm @BJP4Goa,” Naik added.
