Panaji: Welcoming chief minister Pramod Sawant’s decision to sell onions at a subsidised price at Fair Price Shop, BJP leaders including state party president Sadanand Shet Tanavde and youth leader Siddesh Naik lauded the CM’s announcement.
“In an attempt to provide relief to Goans from the spiraling price of onions, Goa Govt offers subsidy at ₹33 per kg to be sold through fair price shops. This intervention would not only provide the pricey commodity at a subsidized rate but would also help control the onion prices,” Tanavde wrote in a tweet.
Backing the chief minister, Siddesh Naik stated, “Congratulations to @DrPramodPSawant & his cabinet for their decision to provide subsidised Onions through fair price shops. This will provide respite to lakhs of homemakers.”
Additionally, Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha also welcomed the decision of Goa Government to provide 3 kgs of Onion at subsidized rate of Rs 32 per kg to each ration card holder in the state. BJP Mahila Morcha president Dr Sheetal Naik also welcomed decision of the Chief Minister to waive the required life certificate for Griha Adhar and DSSY beneficiaries in the State of Goa for the current year due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Dr Naik further said that the BJP always stood with downtrodden sections of the society under the principle of Ántyodaya’.
