Panaji: Congress party today claimed that the BJP led government has pushed State into a “financial emergency”.
“BJP led government needs to be awarded for tripling State’s debt in just seven years of its rule,” Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar told reporters.
Chodankar said that the State debt at present is Rs 20,485 crore as against Rs 7000 crore in March 2012, when the Congress government was thrown out of power.
He said that debt will touch Rs 22,000 crore by 2022 if government fails to bring in place financial discipline.
Chodankar demanded that government should release a white paper on the public finance.
