Panaji: BJP candidate Atanasio Monserratte was leading against his nearest rival Utpal Parrikar (Independent) candidate after the first round of the counting of votes from Panaji assembly segment, an official said.
Monserratte polled 1167 votes while Utpal was second with 784 votes after the first round. Congress candiate Elvis Gomes was third with 343 votes in this constituency, an official said.
Parrikar was leading after the counting of postal ballots but later Monserratte took the lead in the EVMs were counted.
