Curtorim: The opposition Congress party has taken strong objection to the notification of the areas as urban.
Congress spokesman and MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco said that he wont allow Curtorim and Raia (both villages notified in the list) to be made urban areas.
“We want our villages and we have maintained them not for the government to do what they want. Our people’s wishes are first,” he said.
