Panaji : The Goa Congress’s Legal Cell is not happy with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s Move to rename the controversial ‘Bhumiputra Adhikarini Bill’.
Addressing the press, Congress leader, Carlos Ferreira said “Why did the Chief Minister seek to rename the bill ? and invite objections after it was bulldozed in the legislative assembly”
Ferreira charged that CM’s move to rename the bill is nothing but ‘old wine in new bottle’. “It is an attempt to once again fool Goans,” added Ferreira.
“Inviting objections to a bill which has already been passed is unheard of in any democratic country. The bill was passed without even notifying it in the official Gazette” said Ferreira.
Ferreira has asserted that the bill needs to be dropped and withdrawn to gain confidence of the people.
