Panaji: At the backdrop of a question whether culprits of Banastarim road accident are being shielded by the authorities, chief minister Pramod Sawant said that the police have finalized (identified) the driver.
“Police are investigating the case. Police have finalized (identified) the driver. They are noting everything. Whoever is guilty will go behind the bars,” he said.
The eye witnesses had revealed that it was not Paresh Sawardekar but another woman, reportedly his wife Meghana, was on the steering wheels when the accident happened.
Mardol police have arrested Paresh Sawardekar in connection with the case. Deputy Superintendent of Police Ashish Shirodkar had claimed that the accused was heavily drunk during the accident.
