Panaji: Curiousity of the people to see new Mandovi bridge saw several people rushing to see this to-be inaugurated link on the river. Officially, it will be open for use from tomorrow at the hands of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

- Bridge will decongest Panaji city which is receiving 66,000 vehicles every day.
- The bridge was proposed by state run GSIDC and designed by L &T Infrastructure Limited and constructed by L&T Heavy Civil Infrastructure.
- The four-lane Cable stayed bridge, which is a third link running parallel to both the existing bridges, will support and sustain burgeoning traffic and will be an aesthetically pleasing landmark for tourism development in the State of Goa.
- Total Bridge Length of the Bridge is 5.1 kms including approaches.
- Bridge is made of 1,00,000 cubic metres of High Strength, High Performance Concrete which is enough to fill 40 Olympic size swimming pools.
- It has 13,000 MT of Corrosion resistant Reinforcement Steel, 32000 square meter of Structural Steel Plates, 1800 km of High Tensile Pre-stressing strands, 88 High Tensile Strength Cables in State-of-the-art Single Place Harp type Cable Stay System equipped with real-time Force Monitoring technology.
- The total weight of the bridge is 2,50,000 tons which is weight of 570 Boeings.
