Ponda: Goa Forward leader Rajesh Verenkar demanded that health department should make immediate alternate arrangements so that citizens of Ponda don’t suffer as the Sub District Hospital has been converted into COVID Hospital. Rajesh said that Sub District doesn’t only cater to Ponda citizens but also it caters to citizens surrounding Ponda Taluka. Specially pregnant women in and around Ponda and from remote villages get themselves admitted at Ponda Sub District Hospital for their delivery.
Vernekar further said that Goa Forward Party doesn’t oppose the move by the Govt to convert Ponda Sub District Hospital into a COVID Hospital. We need to behave maturely and understand the gravity of the situation said Verenkar. We shouldn’t oppose just for the sake of opposing. Rajesh said that he backs the demand made by Goa Forward MLA Jayesh Salgaonkar to start COVID Hospital in North Goa too.
Rajesh said that Health Department should immediately make necessary arrangement at Old Primary Health Centre at Ponda so that patients who need urgent medical attention can be admitted for further treatment and women who are due can deliver. Goa Forward Ponda block also demands that Govt should start OPD at an alternate location in Ponda immediately so that economically backward patients are not deprived of Health Care Facilities . Verenkar said that Goa Forward Ponda Block is committed to stand with the citizens during this pandemic and all necessary help will be rendered to the citizens of Ponda Constituency
