Panaji: The BJP led government’s failure to resolve the ongoing mining crisis is likely to force its alliance partner- Goa Forward Party (GFP) to think on extending its support to the saffron party for the forthcoming Lok Sabha election 2019.
“Most likely we will not have candidate for Lok Sabha election…I am saying “most likely”…it may change also later. People issues need to solved,” GFP president and Cabinet Minister Vijai Sardesai said today.
“We are part of this coalition government does not mean that we are going to support every decision that this government takes. Justice delayed is equal to justice denied,” Sardesai said pointing to Government failure to work out solution to the current mining crisis that has left over one lakh people jobless.
Sardesai said that mining should start in the State at the earliest or else the BJP could face major consequences in the Lol Sabha election.
“If the mining doesn’t start at the earliest, Goa Forward will re-think of supporting BJP in 2019 LS polls,” Sardesai said.
Former Congress’ Mayem candidate Santosh Kumar Sawant today joined GFP with his supporters claiming that GFP to be the only party sincere towards mining affected people of the State.
“If BJP want our people’s support for the Lok Sabha election then they will have to listen to the grievances of our people. If they support our people, all these will vote for BJP candidate only,” Sardesai said.
