Valpoi: Several policemen were injured after Shel-Melaulim locals pelted stones on them, as they tried to enter the village through forest routes.
The residents who were well prepared for the policemen to arrive in the village through forest route had gathered stones in advance. The stones were pelted and in some cases, even policemen were attacked physically by the locals.
Even as we file this news, the scuffle between villagers and policemen were on.
