Panaji: Marathi movie ‘Sthalpuran – Chronicle of Space’ has been selected for the upcoming Berlim International Film Festival where it will compete for coveted “Crystal Bear Award,” the filmmaker said on Friday.
Akshay Indikar-directed movie will also have its world premier during the Berlin International Film Festival, which will be held from February 20-29, 2020.
“This is the fifth Marathi movie to be selected for the Berlin International Film Festival. It will be competing for coveted Crystal Bear Award,” said Sanjay Shetye, Producer of the film.
The production house has its head office in Goa, and this is the first Goan movie to participate in this category of the film festival, he said.
Shetye said that the movie, which is yet to be released, is a story about eight-year-old boy who is in search of his father.
“It is his experience about the chaotic situation that is the basic story of the film,” he said. The movie is shot in the interiors of Goa and Konkan showcasing glimpses of Konkani culture, Shetye said.
