Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday said that total number of COVID-19 active cases in the state has reached a mark of 130.
He said that the major number of cases are from Mangor Hill, Vasco which has been declared as a containment area by the state government, after sudden rise in the cases reported there.
“The total number of COVID-19 positive cases as on Friday are 130. We have been testing the people from Mangor Hill area, where the cases are reported in sizeable number,” he said.
The chief minister reiterated that the COVID-19 infection has been through local transmission at Mongor Hill, while there is no community transmission.
Sawant said that all the people who are entering the state are being tested for the infection due to which there are few more cases detected in the State.
The chief minister said that the restaurants in the state will open from June 08 with adequate social distancing measures.
“The religious places will also open from June 08 but they will be barred from conducting the functions where many people gather. They can have their regular rituals,” he said.
