Margao: Goa Forward Party chief and former Deputy Chief Minister Vijai Sardesai has demanded inquiry by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the condition of pothole ridden roads in the state.

“Government has been giving excuse that it rained incessant this year, as it never rained in Goa in the past,” Sardesai said, condemning statement of PWD minister Dipak Pauskar that the roads would be repaired by May next year.

“Such a condition of roads would affect tourism. Why would tourist come to Goa?,” he said.

Sardesai said that state government was designing road shows and events like Vibrant Goa to attract tourists but in fact the situation is that people are vibrating on the roads of Goa.

He said that the state government had promised on the floor of the House to repair the roads by Ganesh Chaturthi which they have failed putting people to grave inconvenience.
