On Friday, November 3rd, Telemedicine of society (TSI) in collaboration with International Society for Telemedicine and ehealth (ISfTeH) kicked off its 19th international conference “Telemedicon-2023” in Goa, the city of sun and sand. More than three hundred professionals attended the conference on day 1.
Telemedicon 2023 was inaugurated by the hands of Dr. Chandrakant Shetye, Member of Legislative Assembly, Bicholim and Chairman, Infotech Corporation of Goa, Dr. Shetye in his inaugural speech expressed happiness on the achievements of Telemedicine Society of India and also congratulated the members of Goa Chapter to have participated in this event, he added that the Government of Goa is committed to promoting new avenues in healthcare and the successful implementation of STEMI project which has saved numerous life’s by use of medicine and technology is a testimony to the efforts of state and central government.
Dr Shetye further elaborated that as a chairman of Infotech Corporation of Goa having Health Solutions as an integral vertical is ensuring necessary steps are taken to integrate technology in healthcare.
Earlier today Mr Michael Lobo,Member of Legislative Assembly, Calangute and Ex Cabinet Minister inaugurated the Scientific Exhibition Hall showcasing more than 50 digital health technologies and products, Mr Lobo interacted with heads of various companies working in field of telemedicine and E-Health, and had a first hand experience of some amazing innovations happening which can have a huge impact on public health, Mr Lobo expressed gratitude to know that Goa State chapter of Telemedicine Society of India is active in the state and working towards creating awareness about e- health, he added that Government of Goa should support this initiative and ensure that people of Goa are benefited.
The event unfolded with Dr Meenu Singh, Director AIIMS Rishikesh and current President of TSI along with Dr Michele Griffith, senior internal Medicine specialist and President of ISfTeH, welcoming the dignitaries followed by lamp lighting to mark the beginning of a day filled with knowledge, understanding and awareness. The morning sessions focused on the and hot and trending topics of emerging technologies, future trends in healthcare/vaccine delivery and government initiatives.
The Goa state chapter along with its key members, Dr Suyog Sammuel, President, Dr Shekhar Salkar, Vice President, Dr Babita Prabhudesai Angle, Treasurer and Dr Devdutt Sail, Secretary is actively participating in the 3 day international Conference having the theme of Emerging Technologies connecting Indian health systems.
