State-of-Art project with all facilities of Women & Child Development under one roof to come up at Merces

Panaji: The department of women and child development has tendered Rs 30 crore worth State-of-art project at Merces that will house all its facilities including protection home, women commission, childrens court under one roof.

Minister for Women and child development Vishwajit Rane announced that the tender for the project is been issued.

“It is one of my dream project, creating a centre of excellence, which I took to honorable Chief Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar and through his support and visionary guidance we got it approved. A centre with all departments under one roof at the cost 25-30cr will come up,” Rane said

The campus is going to be one of it’s own in the country bringing in different departments and facilities within the same campus, he said.

It will house Childrens cour,  Juvenile Justice Board, North and South Goa,  Child welfare committee, Child Right commission, Women commission, Apna Ghar administrative block, Extension of residential facility for children in existing Apna Ghar building, Playground and Recreational facilities for juveniles, Protection home, Aftercare home,  Vocational training facility for children and Main administrative building.

“Our new complex design structure is planned and will contribute in such a way that it leaves the green passages in its place while the departments will be constructed around it. We need trees for a healthy living, hence we have planned to avoid touching or destroying mother nature. It is designed to have a positive impact on the environment. We hope that this project reaches heights as we have put in a lot of efforts in planning it,” Rane said.
