Panaji: Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has said that the solution for the water dispute on Mahadayi river between Goa and Karnataka would be worked out “very soon.”
A delegation of Goa government led by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday met Shekhawat in New Delhi. On Wednesday evening, the delegation had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
After his meeting with the chief minister, Shekhawat tweeted “Goa chief minister had come to meet me at my Delhi residence along with the other delegates. We discussed Mahadayi River water distribution issue. For sure, the solution on this issue would be worked out very soon.”
Goa government has demanded the formation of Water Management Authority and also withdrawal of the consent given to Karnataka for its Detailed Project Report for two dams on Mahadayi river.
