Panaji: Social Activist Shailendra Velingkar has amended his petition challenging GMCH recruitment before the High Court, with two ex-employees filing affidavit alleging the illegalities.

Advocate Omkar Kulkarni, the lawyer for Velingkar, told Goa News Hub that the amendment to the petition was filed before the division Bench on Tuesday. The Bench has admitted the petition, posting the hearing in the case after four weeks, he said.

The lawyer said that the Amended petition has attached the affidavits filed by two former employees of GMCH who has vouched for the illegalities.

Another girl, who had participated in the recruitment process, has also filed the affidavit before the High Court.

The fate of more than 1,000 employees currently working in GMCH is dependent on this case.

Velingkar, had earlier this year filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) alleging scam in the recruitment process of posts in the State-run hospital. The PIL stated that the recruitment for 1,371 posts in multiple categories is “illegal and unconstitutional”.
