Panaji: Sports Minister Govind Gaude on Saturaday chaired a high level meeting of the security officials ahead of the upcoming National Games 2023, that would be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on October 26.
Talking to reporters after the meeting near Panaji, Gaude said that the primary focus of the meeting was to develop a comprehensive plan to safeguard all athletes, technical officers, and spectators.
The minister said that this plan includes three crucial aspects like a robust security framework throughout the National Games, clear traffic routes to prevent congestion, andconsiderations for the regular movements of people within the state.
The meeting was attended by Secretary (Sports) Swetika Sachan, Games Technical Conduct Committee Chairman Amitabh Sharma, Inspector General of Police Omvir Singh Bishnoi and others.
Gaude said that he is not only been committed to the successful organization of the event but has also placed a strong emphasis on ensuring the seamless facilitation and safety of the athletes throughout their entire journey, from their arrival in Goa to their departure.
The 37th National Games will have participation of more than 10,000 athletes and it will feature 43 sports disciplines.
