Panaji: Goa government has increased the security around its Churches on the Easter Day on Sunday following series of bomb blasts in Sri Lanka.
State Chief Minister Pramod Sawant told reporters that he has already instructed Director General of Police Pranab Nanda to heighten security around the Churches.
“The security has already been tightened around Churches. I will also be talking to Archbishop of Goa seeking his help to ensure security of the Churches,” he said.
While condemning the attacks in Sri Lanka. Sawant said that Goa needs to take additional precaution, as the number of Churches in the State are more.
Around 160 people are estimated to have been killed in eight blasts reported near Churches and hotels in Sri Lanka.
