St Cruz: Two panch members of St Cruz panchayat have come forward with the allegations that Rs one crore has been offered by an influential politician with his links in illegal business to save current sarpanch Jeniffer de Oliveira from losing the no confidence motion.
Panch members Inacio Pereira and Peter de Araujo told reporters that some people were going around at the behest of an influential person from St Cruz trying to ensure that the Sarpanch do not lose the no confidence motion.
A group of six panch members have moved no confidence motion against the Sarpanch.
The panch members claimed that the offer of Rs one crore has been given to the panch members while those who broker the deal will get Rs 10 lakh.
They have questioned why such whopping sum is being used for horse trading.
Pereira who was the member of ruling group had withdrawn his support after the Sarpanch failed him to take into confidence and also was not able to fulfil the demands of the villagers. He had said that the pending panchayat ghar was one of the issue which has never been followed up by the Sarpanch.
