Panaji: The woman who was allegedly raped by former minister Atanasio Monserratte was traced in North Goa by police on Monday after she missing since the last week of last month.
A senior police official said that the woman was found to be living with her female friend in Mapusa town.
She was traced and she is safe, police said.
The woman who was minor when she alleged rape in the head 2016 by former minister had gone missing from a rehabilitation facility in South goa on April 28.
Police were on look out for her after the officials of the rehabilitation facility filed missing complaint.
Incidentally, Monserratte has contested Panaji by election on May 19 on Congress ticket.
He has contested against Bjp Candidate Siddharth Kunkolienkar.
Bjp had raised issue of missing victim during their election campaign.
