Panaji: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had late night imprompty meeting at a five star hotel with Goa MLAs.
Sources confirmed that Gandhi after his arrival in the state had a short meeting with MLAs. Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao and Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa were present for the dinner but Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira was not there.
Ferreira had come to the airport to receive Gandhi on Wednesday night.
While there is no clarity on Gandhi’s visit to the state, several office bearers of the party who were present outside Dabolim airport could not wish their leader upon his arrival on Wednesday mid night.
The prominent office bearers including Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress chief Beena Naik had come with bouquet but Gandhi did not stop for much time and left within few seconds. As he moved, he waved at the office bearers and smiled.
Interestingly, Gandhi travelled by a private car of GPCC chief Amit Patkar to the hotel while refusing to sit in the government assigned Fortuner.
