Pernem: Several trains on Konkan Railway Corporation’s route were diverted via Londa (Karnataka ) on Thursday after a portion of the wall inside a tunnel at Pernem in Goa collapsed due to the heavy rains.

KRCL Spokesman Baban Ghatge said that a five metre long portion of a wall inside a tunnel at Pernem (North Goa) collapsed last night due to heavy rains.
There were no casualties and work to restore the track has already begun, he said that the trains running on this section have been diverted via Londa.
“There is no cancellation of the train,” Ghatge said.
The KRCL in its press note issued has said that the portion of the wall collapsed at 2.50 am on August 06.
“The traffic in this section has been suspended till further advice. There are no casualties or injuries reported. Konkan railway officials have rushed to the site,” the KRCL’s press note reads.
The trains which have been diverted includes Ernakulum- H. Nizamuddin Superfast Special Express train, Thiruvananthapuram Central – Lokmanya Tilak Special Express, Thiruvananthapuram Central Rajdhani Special Express, H. Nizamuddin – Ernakulum Superfast Special Express and Lokmanya Tilak – Thiruvananthapuram Central.
