Porvorim: Police have charged Varun Nayyar (30), son of a prominent businessman, of raping a minor special girl. The police added rape charges on the accused after it was revealed that he had taken to the girl to a hotel room earlier last week where he raped her.
Porvorim Police have launched an extensive investigation into the case. It has been revealed that the family members of the victim had apprehended accused, when he was attempting to molest the minor girl one more time.
As per the complaint with Porvorim police station lodged by the parents of 13-year-old minor special child, the accused had sexually abused her in the past. He had called her again on the day, when the parents smelt something wrong and than caught the accused near one of the isolated spot around Porvorim.
Social activist Aishwarya Salgaonkar, who is helping the parents to get justice, said that the accused tried to flee from the place.
In the melee, parents of the child got injured, but they managed to catch hold of the accused who was brought to Porvorim Police Station.
The accused got acquainted with the girl at a shop near Panaji where he exchanged his number with her and was frequently calling and meeting her.
The accused is a son of businessman who runs chain of well known restaurants in Panaji.
