Mapusa: After Arambol party of the foreigners during lockdown time, Pernem police inspector Sandesh Chodankar is facing another charge. This time by ruling minister from Pramod Sawant-led government.
Port Minister Michael Lobo has accused Chodankar of accepting bribe to allow the movement of trucks carrying sand and stones during the lockdown time.
Lobo said that Chodankar was accepting Rs 500 from each of the truck to allow them to move.
The minister also said that Chodankar has been acting adamant and wants instructions only from the chief minister.
Lobo demanded immediate transfer of Chodankar from Pernem police station.
He clarified that the chief minister was not in the know about Chodankar’s actions. Lobo said that CM was honest and straightforward person, who will not tolerate such behaviour of any police officer.
Chodankar was in the news recently after foreigners were seen loitering below Banyan tree during lockdown time.
